Barrister Obuna
POEM
Politics is the science of statecraft.
Politics is in oligarchy, in aristocracy
Politics is in democracy, in meritocracy
Politics is in theocracy, in totalitarianism
Politics is in monarchy, in elite despotism
Politics is the science of all Leadership
Not devoid of all forms of dictatorship
Not devoid of all forms of showmanship,
Politics is the goodness in real statesmanship
Not devoid of forms of crookedness in witchcraft.
Politics is an art of wisdom
It’s for wo(men) with divine wisdom
It’s for wo(men) with great mission
It’s for wo(men) of true great vision,
It flows from head of a great fe(male) gender
It flows through hands of the Servant Leader
Politics is played from the left or right wing
Politics is for the Philosopher-Queen/King.
Politics is the art of governing of men
Politics is who gets what, how, when
Politics is authoritative allocation of values
Politics is full of surprises from the blues
Politics is the art of the possible
Politics is an art of the Honorable
Politics is an art of the horrible
Politics is an art of the terrible.
Politics is an art of weaponization of economy
By national, international merchants of hegemony
Through slavery, colonization, apartheid, subjugation
Which springs up people’s right to self determination
Spirally leading to global meltdown and stagnation
As in WWII, Nigerian-Biafran, Ukraine-Russian war
When hunger turned legitimate instrument of war,
Politics can bend state, national, international law.
Politics flows through the barrel of the gun
When elections were neither lost nor won
During the era of the old modern time juntas
Who were like ancient mindless head hunters
Noted for barbarism, incompetence, gross misrule
Yet they call others the zombies and bloody fool
Politics is a good scientific field of study,
Politics is sometimes violent, very very bloody.
Politics flows though the fountain pen
Flows through my fiery mystic fighting pen
A fighting pen that shapes public opinion
A pen that calls for socio-economic re-union
A pen that calls for fairness and equality
A pen that calls for justice and equity
A pen which is mightier than the sword
Willing tool in the hands of the wordsmith
Politics flows from power, golden pen’s word
Politics is a priceless gift from Almighty God.
