An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group in Bayelsa State on Sunday organised a prayer and fasting programme to seek God’s intervention towards the unity and success of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The event put together by the group known as Pastor Reuben Initiative for Good Leadership and Accountability (PRIFGLA), attracted members of the APC support group from the eight local governments  area in Bayelsa State.

A party chieftain and Chairman Advisory Council of PRIFGLA, Hon. Stephen Ogullah, while speaking during the prayers and fasting programme harped on unity amongst the leaders of APC in Bayelsa.

He noted that harmony amongst Chief Timipre Sylva, Chief David Lyon, and Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, was crucial for the party’s success at the polls.

Ogallah noted that it is only when APC leaders unite as one family that the mission to reclaim the governorship seat in Bayelsa, retain power at the centre, and win all the state Assembly, and National Assembly seats would be feasible.

According to him, losing the governorship position by virture of a Supreme Court verdict after winning in a landslide in the 2019 election makes their resorting to God imperative.

He emphasised the importance of good leadership at all levels , adding that accountability breeds good leadership and enjoined  who are engaged in blackmail, backbiting and name calling to stop such in the interest of peace.

The advisory council chairman noted that the council has recorded huge success in uniting the leaders, adding that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
