Sen. Nnachi wins Ebonyi South PDP senatorial ticket-By Paulinus Ogbonna

Dr Michael Nnachi, senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, has emerged the winner of the rescheduled People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Primary election held early hours of Monday at Afikpo North local government area.

Nnachi is seeking a second term bid to represent the Ebonyi South senatorial zone.
Okechukwu Mgbebor, Chairman of the five-man Electoral Panel from the National Working Committee (NWC) who declared the result said Nnachi polled 127 votes to emerge the winner after defeating the other contestants Mr Linus Okorie who scored 24 votes.

According to him, a total of 152 was cast during the election with 151 valid votes with one invalid vote.
He described the process as peaceful, credible and transparent, adding that the primary was conducted in accordance with the Electoral Act and the guidelines of the PDP.

“The electoral process commenced with the accreditation of delegates from the five LGAs of Ebonyi South Senatorial District, before the voting exercise by the delegates,” he said.

In his acceptance remarks, Sen Nnachi appreciated members of the party’s electoral committee for ensuring peaceful and transparent exercise.
He thanked the delegates for their overwhelming support and solidarity.

He assured the people of Ebonyi South zone that he would continue to ensure that democratic dividends reached all the nocks and crannies if given the mandate for the second term.
