Senator Ubah
The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial zone in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Ifeanyi Ubah, on Sunday narrowly escaped death when his convoy was viciously attacked by gunmen at Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu, in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
However, no fewer than five persons in his convoy were reportedly killed when the gun men rained bullets on the senator’s convoy from several angles.
According to reports, the senator escaped unhurt as bullets could not pierce through the bullet-proof vehicle which he was riding in at the time of the attack.
Meanwhile, the Anambra state Police command, has confirmed the attack by gunmen on Senator Ubah’s convoy.
DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Anambra state Police Command who confirmed the deadly incident said the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Echeng Echeng, had taken police operatives to the scene of the incident.
“Though the details of the incident is still sketchy, operatives are on ground there as operations are going on and the situation is being monitored,” the PPRO said.
