2023: Abia Labour Party flags off Campaign Thursday – From Gloria Uchenna/Umuahia

The Abia state governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) Dr. Alex Otti, will on Thursday, November 10, receive the party’s flag to jump-start its campaigns for the 2023 general elections in the state.

Besides the governorship candidate, all the party’s candidates for the various elective positions would also be given their respective flags in a memorable event scheduled to hold by 10 a.m. at Ngwa High School, Aba, the commercial hub of the state.

However, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has remonstrated against the choice of venue for the event, arguing that it would disrupt academic activities in the school founded on September 24, 1954.

A statement jointly signed by Hon. Ceekay Igara, and Njoku Jerry Ajike, state chairman, and state publicity secretary respectively, and made available to SummitNews read:

“… Notice is hereby issued to the general public and all concerned, most importantly all members of the Obidient Movement, Abia State Chapter, Pro-Groups, Trade and Labour Unions, Professional Groups, Students, Friends and Well Wishers of Abia State

“The Labour party Flag Off Campaign for the gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Alex Otti and every successful candidate of Labour party beginning from State Constituencies, Federal Representatives and the Senate shall be taking place on Thursday 10th of November at Ngwa High School, Aba.  Time: 10.00 a.m.

“ Labour Party, Abia State Chapter wishes to use this occasion to invite you to take part in this epoch event and handing over of the flag of victory to all the candidates in the coming 2023 general elections to commence the great journey of rescue and total reconstruction of Abia state beginning from 29th May 2023.
