Chief Francis Nwifuru, Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly (EBSHA) and standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 governorship election said he was confident of winning the governorship election.
Nwifuru made the declaration while fielding questions to newsmen on Thursday at Nwofe community, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi during the 18th anniversary of the Regina Pacis Foundation (RPF).
Our correspondent reports that Regina Pacis Foundation is an initiative of Chief Edward Nkwegu, a philanthropist and governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.
He said: “Whether I will win the 2023 governorship election or not, that one is sacrosanct and I will be your next governor.”
The speaker also spoke on the achievements of the foundation for raising many youths, widows and the vulnerable out of poverty through its skills acquisition programme and by bridging the gap between education and poverty through financial education.
The APC governorship candidate also commended the founder of the initiative for educating people on financial freedom but noted that financial freedom was not a destination.
He said: “When you talk about the financial information Regina Pacis is doing or giving out to the public, it is not part of our curriculum, our educational curriculum is one of the best.
” But, that is not the objective because what our curriculum or our people want to achieve is not what the Regina Pacis wants to achieve, the differences are there and are clear but, there are discrepancies and vacancies and that is what the foundation wants to know if it can fill.”
