Gov. Fubara: Holding Divine Mandate
A sociopolitical group, Friends Without Border, has charged Rivers people to rally round Governor Siminialayi Fubara, describing his emergence as governor of Rivers state as divine.
The group in a statement signed by Comrade John Egwim Nwokorie, (Mr. JAHBEST) specifically thanked the governor for appointing one of them, Sir Dr. George Nwaeke, as the Head of Service of Rivers State Civil Service, describing it as a well-deserved appointment.
The statement made available to SummitNews read: “Friends Without Border (FWB) Rivers State chapter heartily congratulate His Excellency Ama-Opu Senibo Sir. Siminialayi Joseph Fubara GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State for the divine and peaceful transition as he is being elected and sworn-in as the executive governor of Rivers State.
“Your Excellency Sir, the entire families of Friends Without Border Rivers State chapter cannot thank you enough for the well-deserved appointment of our dear pragmatic founder and national leader Sir. Dr. George C. Nwaeke, as Head of Service, Rivers State Civil Service.
“We pray to the Almighty God to grant you the grace and wisdom to steer the ship of administering and consolidating on the New Rivers Vision.”
They also called on Rivers people to contribute to the development of the state, adding that the result of the governorship election has come to unite the state.
“Rivers people and indeed Nigerians resident in the state should at this moment understand that electioneering campaign divides while result of the election that represents the voice of the people unites everyone.
“Now is the time for governance therefore, we must focus all efforts on building our dear state in the positive direction, politicking and personal sentiments are over. Together we harness our ideas and work as a team for collective interests, towards the progress of our beloved Rivers State”.
Friends Without Border further admonished Rivers people to give their full support to the immediate past governor of Rivers state Barrister Nyesom Wike, whom the described as the ‘hero of democracy in Nigeria’.
“We charge all well-meaning persons resident in Rivers state to rally round Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, GSSRS, Power of Sport Africa, Live Bencher, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, hero of democracy in Nigeria who has groomed, nurtured and mentored the incumbent governor of Rivers state to further move Rivers State forward.
“Therefore, it is our responsibility to demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship and maintain the already existing peace and love that will elevate the state to the higher echelon in the comity of states in Nigeria, the time to add value to Rivers State is now, let us support the administration of His Excellency Ama-Opu Senibo Siminialayi Joseph Fubara” the statement concluded.
Friends without border (FWB) Rivers State chapter is a sociopolitical progressive organization across the twenty-three local government areas of Rivers State, and is made up of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Arewa, Yoruba, Akwacross, Edo, and Delta communities, including South-South and several others.
