URBAN RENEWAL: Niger State Govt to partner CCECC, as Gov. Bago visits its Abuja head office

The Niger State government is to enter into a partnership with the China Civil Engineering Construction Company as part of efforts to propel socio-economic growth and development of the state. 

The State Governor Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, disclosed this after a closed-door meeting with the officials of the Chinese Company at its headquarters in Abuja.

Briefing Journalists after the meeting, Gov. Bago explained that they had a fruitful engagement especially as it affects his urban renewal policy. 

“We are about to enter a partnership with the CCECC for our urban renewal dream.

“We have come to look at some designs done already and make necessary corrections for the final printout so that we can hit the ground running”, he said.

The Deputy Managing Director, of CCECC, Jacques Liao said it was established in 1981 and has been involved in several major construction projects such as railways, roads and other buildings among others.

According to him, “In the past 42 years, we have delivered legacy projects in the country”. 

In the entourage of Gov.  Bago were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi, and his Deputy Chief of Staff Alhaji Sadiq Yusuf, Principal Private Secretary, Usman Magaji, Special Assistant to the Governor on Domestic, Abdulhakim Abdulrahman among others. 

Recall that the governor had recently inspected the project site of the Chinese Company to acquire first-hand knowledge of their capacity and operation in tandem with his administration’s policy thrust
