AS we approach the solemn and reflective season of Easter, one of the most sacred moments in the Christian calendar which is emblematic of Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, I extend my warmest greetings to you all. This period not only invites spiritual introspection but also coincides with a defining phase in our nation’s democratic evolution.

Permit me to express my profound appreciation for your steadfast loyalty, resilience, and unwavering commitment as we collectively navigate the road toward the 2027 General Elections. Your dedication continues to inspire confidence in the possibility of a more just, equitable, and progressive political order.

It is, however, imperative to acknowledge the evolving dynamics within Nigeria’s political landscape. There is an observable drift toward what may, in analytical terms, be described as a quasi one-party state, as a significant number of state governors increasingly align with the party at the centre. A critical examination suggests that many of these alignments are less a function of ideological convergence and more a reflection of strategic calculations aimed at consolidating access to federal power and electoral advantage.

While such realignments may be politically expedient, they further illuminate the urgent necessity for a credible, principled, and people-driven alternative, one that is anchored not in opportunism, but in vision, integrity, and national purpose.

Our collective platform has, over time, served as a convergence point for both former and serving political actors within Enugu State. It has fostered dialogue, built bridges, and sustained hope. Yet, recent developments indicate that we stand at a critical juncture, one where the temptation of short-term political gains threatens to overshadow the imperatives of long-term collective advancement.
.
We must, therefore, remind ourselves that the 2027 elections will not be defined by entrenched structures alone. The Nigerian electorate is evolving, more informed, more discerning, and increasingly determined to assert its will. The forthcoming electoral contest will, in many respects, reflect a deeper socio-political dialectic: a contest between entrenched privilege and popular aspiration; between elite consolidation and grassroots resurgence.

In light of these realities, the path forward for all opposition forces is both clear and compelling: the imperative of unity. The formation of a broad-based, strategic coalition is no longer optional, it is essential for restoring balance, strengthening democratic competition, and advancing the collective interests of our people.

Our mission, whether expressed through the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or the African Democratic Congress (ADC), remains consistent and unwavering:

To build a formidable and cohesive political alliance
.
To deepen inclusivity and participatory governance
.
To support the emergence of a credible Presidential candidate of Southeast extraction in 2027
.
Following extensive consultations, rigorous reflection, and a careful assessment of the prevailing political environment, I am persuaded that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) offers a viable and credible platform through which these aspirations can be meaningfully pursued.

Accordingly, I have taken the considered decision to align with the ADC, in furtherance of our shared commitment to equity, justice, and national renewal.

Let us move forward with clarity of purpose, unity of vision, and an unshakable belief in the promise of a better Nigeria.
