Anambra Women Group To Raise N150m For Project Execution, Enrich Lives of Members – From Chukwudi Ejimofor/Port-Harcourt,

The Women wing of Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) Rivers State, says it plans to raise N150 million to assist the parent body complete work on its  ’Light Arena Complex’ in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, as well as enrich the lives of its  female members.

This is just as the group announced that its annual convention would hold on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Oak Garden, No. 1 Ken Sarowiwa Road, Airforce Junction, Port Harcourt, emphasised that

Addressing journalists in Port-Harcourt, Chairlady of AASDU’s Women wing, Iyom Nkechinyere Okekearo, emphasised that part of the N150m would be deployed towards the completion of the ‘Light Arena Complex, adding that the money would also be used to  Uplift the living conditions of deserving female members of the group.

According to her, the theme of the Convention is ‘Enriching the lives of women,’ adding that “when the woman is enriched, the household, family and communities are enriched.”

She explained that AASDU is the umbrella body of Anambra state development town unions resident in Rivers state.

Speaking further, she named Chief Sir. Ikenna Okafor, Ide Mba Ná Abụọ, as chairman of the occasion, while the Royal Father of the Day will be HRH Dr. Chinedu Madubuko OFR, Ezechinaechendo.

The Soecial Guest of Honour is expected to be Chief, Sir. Abraham Otti, Ikenga Umuchu, while Prof. Ngozi Claire Orazuluike (Lolo Genesis) will deliver the keynote address at the occasion expected to be graced by several dignitaries from within and outside Rivers state.

Also speaking,  the Chairperson Organising Committee Dr. Esther Okafor, Lolo Ide Akwaeze, explained further that the occasion is targeted at fundraising.

“Yes the event is targeted at  One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira fundraising, lectures and other cultural activities” Dr. Okafor averred.

The first Vice Chairlady AASDU women wing, Mrs. Ifeoma Okoye, reiterated that “the occasion is expected to be graced by top notch business Moguls, Entrepreneurs, Chief Executive Officers of multinational companies.

She said:  “The date is Saturday 23rd May, 2026 at the Oak Garden, No. 1 Ken Sarowiwa Road, AirForce Junction Port Harcourt, and the time is 12 noon prompt.

The occasion is expected to be colourful, as AASDU women wing members town unions are to showcase their presence.
