…….as 25 Nigerian UN-WCD Delegates to Engage U.S. Lawmakers on Global Peace: “End Wars Now!”
. THE United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD), has called on all waring nations to cease hostilities forthwith, and embrace peace inorder to make the world a better place to live in.
This is just as the organisation urged world leaders to ensure an end to hostilities wherever they exist across the globe, adding that they should priortise human development.
A statement by His Excellently Ambassador Dr. Larry-Goodwill Akintoba Ajiola, Head, Policy and Diplomatic Relations, & Director, South-South/South-East Regions,UN-WCD, and made available to SummitNews, states that geñuine peace is achievable through diplomacy and dialogue, centred on justice, equity and fairness.
Ambassador Ajiola, called for an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, the US-Iran war, the Israeli- Palestine tensions, the Korean-Peninsula tensions, stressing that a return to round-table diplomacy.

The statement reads: “The path to lasting Peace can only be achieved through Diplomacy and dialogue centered on justice, equity and fairness, that is United Nations SDG 16th and not through war or hostility nor intimidations.
“Rather than promote lasting Peace, Friendship, Trust and Healthy relationship, under which UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is achieved, that war deepens crisis, enmity, hate, bitterness (Xenophobic), rancour, acrimony, suspicion and distrust, which strain international relations and impede trade (depress Economy of Nations), investment and development ( growth degradation).
,*This is why the United Nations underscored the essence of ‘Peace’, ‘Justice’ and ‘trong Institutions’ in the quest for Socio-Economic Development around the world by including them as SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) number 16th.
*It is therefore unfortunathat rather than follow this path charted by the United Nations for global peace, harmony and socio-economic sustainability, some world leaders have decided to tread the path of war which is hostile and inhumane, selfish and brutish, relegating diplomacy to the background and plunging their countries in particular and the world at large into incessant crises, tension and uncertainty.

Thousands have died as a result of this inhumane hostility: Mothers, fathers, youths, children, babies, the sick, the healthy, the elderly, soldiers, civilians. Enough of this carnage! Enough of this evil, bully called WAR!!

“We can’t help but agree with the late former Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, that “PEACE and RECONCILIATION are made with enemies and not with friends.
“Borrowing a leaf from this saying, warring leaders can demonstrate courage by dropping their weapons and going to the round table to resolve their differences irrespective of the level of provocation. We implore them to do just that for the sake of their citizens and for the sake of humanity.
