Nkuku (cornucopia) used to be attributed to renowned Ndị-Dibia. This used to be a repertoire of infinite power, hence, any Dibịa worth his salt can’t step far without this mythical Nkuku (cornucopia), the invincible coven.
With Nkuku (cornucopia) in tow, a Dibia can talk with confidence, bombast, envision and dominate his environment.
He could point a finger like the biblical Elijah and thunder would strike!
Great Masquerades of old acted in the manner of great Dibia. They boasted and ranted. In my part of the world, the great *Okwomma* of *Enugwu-Ụmụọnyịa* is one powerful institution. It comes out and hollers with its peculiar nuance: *”Chekuru Cheeiii! Ina elere m elere, ka ịna ekiri m ekiri, ka ọ mụnagị nwe iroaa anyị na aga n’elu ya? Ọ mụ emee gbue gị* ndị Polis emee were m? ” {Are looking at me or admiring me or are we co-owners of this passageway? Is it that I may kill you and police may come after me?}
And the Okwomma with its own Nkuku, could wrought so much incredible things. Nkuku(cornucopia) is synonymous to boundless possibilities from the spirit world and he was no man who had no Nkuku(cornucopia) at his beck and call.
The lure for a man to possess an Nkuku(cornucopia) cannot be overemphasized. With an Nkuku(cornucopia) at his command, a man is able to dominate his environment and direct the cause of events. No man nor thief can barge into your apartment and order you around if you have a powerful Nkuku(cornucopia) in place.
In the same manner, *Mgbadike of Ameshi* comes to mind. This Masquerade has a large box which serves as its Nkuku(cornucopia) and never steps out without an Nkuku leading the way.
At any point in its outing when the Mgbadike feels depleted, it goes and sits on the “Large Box” to recharge!
So, in the like manner, every institution needs an Nkuku (Cornucopia) which serves as the brain box of such establishment. With this device, such institution is able to guage the right direction that will best serve her interest.
In this present dispensation, there comes a government in Nigeria which seems to have a powerful Nkuku (cornucopia) and this government without a whit of doubt, is the present government of Anambra state as superintend by Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo. Or how else could this Governor have done so much if he doesn’t have an Nkuku (Cornucopia)? I for one is overtly seduced and I believe every Anambrarian is seduced too by the sterling achievements of this high flying Governor. May the music cease not to play!
He finishes off one project with applause and éclair and another one springs up at the other end.
This Governor came to my very part of the state, Achina, Aguata and wrought the people with superb network of roads and the people of Achina, Enugwu-Ụmụọnyịa, Agbụdụ, Oneh, Ọgbọji, Ezira etc can now have a sense of belonging and dignity.
Make no mistake,the immediate past government had come to these areas and committed harakiri by wasting the state’s meagre resources by pouring asphalt all over the roads which didn’t waste time in peeling off the roads. I hope that past government is seeing what good roads look like?
From good roads to building of flyovers at Aguata headquarters, Ekwulobia and the superlative roads accompanying it. My heart missed a beat the first time I visited Ekwulobia. So, we can live in our generation and have these standards of infrastructures in our clime?
And, my question: so this quantum of resource has been available in Anambra State but successive governments had geelgeed and heisted them away? Lord have mercy!
And the brouhaha about the menace of crime and criminality, came with deafening crescendo. Tongues kept wagging and all the peoples of Anambra State became exiled in foreign lands while pointing to their homeland for fear of their dear lives.
Again, Prof Soludo consulted his Nkuku(Cornucopia) and *Agụnechemba* was birthed, roaring loud across the length and breadth of the state, as the criminals scamper into the abyss. Anybody, still doubting if our Governor has an effective Nkuku(cornucopia) should *”Jụaa Ese”!*
Yes, there is an uproar about the regulation of the activities of Dibịas and Eze-Nwanyịs in Anambra State and the question is :why not? An unregulated power slips and slips absolutely.
We believe that every Dibịa and Eze-Nwanyị that knows his or her onion must have an Nkuku (Cornucopia). Let all of them file out, each with his/her cornucopia(Nkuku) and let each cornucopia(Nkuku) be hefted to sift the genuine from the fake. This will implicitly promote businesses for those who passed the test and save the state from the activities of charlatans. Who is afraid if indeed you know your onions?
In the run up to the heat of Anambra State gubernatorial contest, ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo paid a courtesy call on his ex-Central Bank Governor (*Nwangbafọ*) and made an instructive statement. Hear him: “I have come to solidarize with you on your ambition of becoming Anambra State Governor, but we need you more at the Centre “!
With what is unfolding before our eyes in Anambra state, the Ex-President knew what he was talking about. Sure, Prof Charlie Nwamgbafọ has a job to do at the Federal level, but not until he has completed his huge tasks here in Anambra state for which a second term is imperative.
There is no changing of a winning team and Anambra state people should thank *Chi-Ukwu-Okike-Abiama* for this fortuitous privilege of having birthed Prof Soludo in our clime!
When the time has come, after finishing his job in Anambra state, Prof. Nwamgbafọ will wear his achievements as a garland and diadem while seeking the topmost job and all his competitors would certainly be dwarfed and intimidated.
The Governor with a Cornucopia (Nkuku), Sir, I bid you welcome to your second tenure to the government house of Anambra state. Welcome most sincerely, your Excellency!
