Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has approved the release of all accumulated promotions of staff of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic (Formerly Abia State Polytechnic, Aba), after over 10 years of embargo on promotion in the state-owned Polytechnic.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Gov. Otti, Citizen Ukoha Njoku Ukoha. and made available to SummitNews states that “the Workers friendly Governor” went a step further and abolished the Notional Promotions practice in the institution.
According to the statement, “the highly elated and jubilant staff of the Polytechnic were overwhelmed with the great news announced by their dynamic and visionary Rector, Dr. Christopher K. Okoro.
“They thanked and appreciated Governor Otti for living up to his promise of defraying the 33 Months arrears of salaries owed them by the immediate past administration, regular payment of their monthly salaries as at when due and putting Infrastructures and measures in place to upgrade the standard of the institution.”
