Governor Francis Nwifuru
Governor Francis Nwifuru, of Ebonyi State on Monday announced one month suspension without pay of twenty five commissioners and fourteen Senior Special Assistants for snubbing important state functions.
Others included in the suspension were twenty four Special Assistants and twenty two Permeant Secretaries.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Dr. Monday Uzor and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, quotes Governor Nwifuru as saying that the suspension of these officials takes immediate effect.
The governor further directed all affected officials not to sign any official document within the period of their suspension, and emphasised that affected Commissioners should hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective Ministries.
According to the statement, the twenty five commissioners who were affected by the suspension include:
