NIGER GOV’T EARMARKS N5 BILLION TO CONSTRUCT NEW NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP. -From -Bala Yahaya, Minna.

 

Niger State Government has earmarked 5 Billion Naira for the construction of new NYSC permanent orientation camp.

The state governor, Muhammad Umaru Bago announced this during the official opening of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream 1 orientation course,and swearing in ceremony of corps members deployed to the state,held at NYSC orientation camp,Paiko,in Paikoro local council, today, Tuesday,2nd July,2024.

Bago had also disclosed that in the interim,the state government would build more toilets facilities as we as drill bore holes in the temporary orientation camp to make it habitable for the Corps members.

Governor Bago who was the Special Guest of the occasion, commended them for choosing to serve in the state,also gifted Corps members with one trailer of Rice and (20) Cows.

Bago announced Two Hundred Thousand Naira(200,000:00),bonus for each,One Thousand, Three Hundred(1,300), corps members serving in the state.

According to him”,We have signed memorandum of understanding(MOU),with Ministry of Youths and Sports with the D.G NYSC,on how we can propel Agriculture on the NYSC scheme, pointing out that as far as you want to go into farming,such as
Aqua culture, Animal husbandry,than you will earn N500,000 monthly,my fellow NYSC members this is an opportunity for you”.Bago said.

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting him to make sure that agriculture revolution is piloted in Niger State.

The Governor re-assured of security, safety and welfare of all corps members serving in the state.

Earlier in her keynote address,the Minister of Youths Development,Dr.Jamila Bio Ibrahim announced a
groundbreaking initiative by the federal government to empower 5,000 NYSC members with up to Ten million naira each for entrepreneurial ventures upon completion of their service years.

Dr Bio further explained that government introducing significant reforms to the NYSC program so as to integrating skills development and entrepreneurship into their service year.

The Minister noted that changes are designed to make corps members experience a period of national service and a time to gain valuable skills and knowledge, adding that embracing the reforms will make the service year more impactful and economically beneficial, equipping them with the tools for professional and personal advancement.

Director General, National Youths Service Corps,Bregediar General Yushau Dogara Ahmed,lauded the governor for approving the construction of new permanent orientation camp.

General Dogara while commending governor Bago for all his gestures to the corps members said it would go along way to assist them.

“His words”, I want to assure that as soon as federal government conclude issued of minimum wage,NYSC management shall also do something”. General Dogara added.

The Niger State Coordinator,NYSC,Mrs.Olayinka Abdulwahab revealed that as part of their participation in the laudable human and capital
developmental programmes of Umar Bago administration,especially the Green Economy Project,the state NYSC management has deployed close to 100 corps members to serve in the Niger Foods project.

Olayinka commended the corps members for their patriotism as demonstrated through acceptance of their deployment to
Niger State.

She explained that the Orientation Course marks the beginning of their exciting journey as a member
of the National Youth Service Corps, adding that It is an avenue to instill in them the core principles
and objectives of the Scheme.

The NYSC state Coordinator
advised the corps members to avoid using social media for spreading fake
news,fuelling hatred and other negative purposes.

She also enjoined them to be
security conscious at all times and report any suspicious characters or activities
round them to the appropriate authorities.

The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik administered oath of Allegiance on the corps members.
