The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will on Sunday, August 18, 2024 bestow on the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, Champion of Peace Award as part of activities marking the 2024 Press Week of the Union.
The Chairman of the 2024 Press Week Olalekan Ige, in a statement made available to SummitNews stated that the award to be presented by the President of the NUJ, Comrade Ikechukwu Isiguzo seeks to honour the governor for his exemplary leadership style and peaceful disposition.
The grand finale of the week-long activity will also witness presentation of lifetime achievement awards and recognition of excellence to over 50 Journalists.
Comrade Ige enjoined all Journalists to attend the programme billed to hold at the LaSien Event Centre Old GRA Port Harcourt.
Preceding the award night the statement further stated is a Thanksgiving Church Service on Sunday morning scheduled at Royal House of Grace International Church, Tombia Street Extension, Port Harcourt by 9am.
