Federal Government Declares October 1, 2024, Public Holiday for Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary

The Federal Government has announced Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as a public holiday to celebrate the nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended congratulations to Nigerians at home and abroad on this significant occasion.

In a statement released by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended the hard work and resilience of Nigerians, emphasizing that their sacrifices will be meaningful.

Echoing the anniversary’s theme, the minister encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the contributions of “our heroes past” and draw inspiration for future endeavors, recognizing that a united Nigeria is essential for realizing the nation of “our dreams.”
