Simplicity Movement Opens Secretariat In Port Harcourt

It was a carnival of sort in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital as the city went agog with dignitaries from different spheres, including Royal Fathers who came together to grace the opening of the Simplicity Movement Secretariat by the governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement(NRM) in the 2023 elections, Amb. Sobomabo Jackreich.

Chants of jubilation and excitement rented the air as they were entertained with music and cultural dances.

Speaking, the Convener of the event, Amb. Jackreich and the Spokesperson of the Movement, Kelly Rufus, said the gathering was not just to celebrate the commissioning of the office, but to showcase the unity of Rivers persons, irrespective of political affiliations, by standing firm to support Gov. Siminialayi Fubara’s vision for a prosperous Rivers State.

They lauded the Governor for his unprecedented developmental strides that had impacted positively on the lives of the populace since he took over the mantle of leadership, in road network ongoing in various parts of the State, human capital development, health/ educational sectors, agriculture, transportation, civil servants’ welfare and other parts of endeavour.

In their separate speeches, the Women Leader of the group, Ethel Kabari, a man who simply gave his name as Asabuja and Frank Owubokiri, reiterated that they would work hand in gloves with other members to promote and galvanize support in all the nooks and crannies of the State for the Governor due to his dexterity in the handling of affairs.

They assured that no matter the plot in some quarters to remove him, with God and the people by his side, he would complete his first and second tenures without hinderance or recourse to anyone, except voluntary, describing him as the “Best that has happened to Rivers State”.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of a pictorial award to Gov. Fubara, which was received by his representative at the occasion, Rt. Hon Evans Bipi, former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogu Bolo Local Government Area.

He thanked Amb. Sobomabo Jackreich, for the portrait and his gesture in inaugurating an office in support of the Governor, with a massive crowd of supporters.

Rt. Hon Bibi described Gov Fubara as a humble man who could shelve his pride to support a man who contested against him in the governorship race of 2023,

He pledged continued support for Gov Fubara, adding that they would work in synergy to ensure he attains his 4 years in office, and get reelected for another 4 years in office.
