President General & wife, Eze Innocent Maduagwu & Ugo Eze
THE United Igbo Communities (UIC) in Rivers and Bayelsa states, has reinstated Eze Innocent Adiele Maduagwu, as Eze Onunaekwuruigbo 111 of Ndi-Igbo resident in Rivers and Bayelsa states.
The reinstatement took place during a special congress of the organisation held In Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital on September 29.
The meeting presided over by the President General United Ịgbo Communities Rivers and Bayelsa states, Comrade Evangelist Julius Uzoma, was attended by members of the executive of the organization, its Board of Trustees members, the Twenty-three (23) chapters of (fifty members) each that make up the Rivers state branch of the organisation.
In his opening remarks, Comrade, EvangelistcJulius Uchenna Uzoma expressed happiness over the large turnout of members to the meeting, saying it symbolised the respect and confidence they have in the organisation and it’s leadership.
He informed the house that the essence of the congress was to settle the lingering crisis in UIC as agreed by the executive committee and the Board of Trustees of UIC.
In his remarks, Eze Innocent Adiele Maduagwu ỌnụnáekwuruỊgbo 111 said: “With the good things we are witnessing here today my heart is full of joy and gladness.
“It’s not something any human being will witness and utter words over it again.
“I am thanking members of UIC and also thank God Almighty that gave you the strength to gather yourself in this direction.
“I came with my mouth full of thanks and my heart heart full of gladness; it shall be well with UIC Rivers and Bayelsa states. Peace shall reign in your respective homes
“The lingering dispute in UIC, if you critically look at the court process, I am not the person that instituted it. But I thank God, because I heard that whatever concerns that court process has ended. Those people that wants to scatter UIC will not succeed.
Eze ỌnụnáekwuruỊgbo continued “It has came to our notice that some people are somewhere trying to form another thing as gathering of Ndị-Igbo Rivers and Bayelsa states. Let me inform us that UIC is the rallying point of Ndị-Igbo Rivers and Bayelsa states. Any other organization outside UIC is forgery.
“UIC was not formed to extort money from Politicians. UIC is for the peace and progress of Ndị-Igbo. But if there are Politicians that came looking for UIC members; they will be welcomed, but that is not the principle idea behind UIC”.
Eze Innocent Adiele Maduagwu stated further “For those that are wondering about looking for Politicians to extort money. There are advised to have a rethink. If they returns, we shall accept them because UIC is the the foundation of Ndị-Igbo resident in Rivers and Bayelsa states, we are not going to change our foundation”. He reiterate.
Speaking to Journalists at the sideline of the event, Eze Sir. Festus Ọnụkwufọ Eze Ndị-Ịgbo Oyigbo, Rivers state commended United Ịgbo Community Rivers and Bayelsa States for brokering peace with Eze Innocent Adiele Maduagwu, he said “Today is a special day for Ndị-Igbo resident in Rivers and Bayelsa states, because we brokered peace with Eze Ndi-Igbo Gburugburu Rivers and Bayelsa State; Eze Innocent Adiele Madụagwụ Eze ỌnụnáekwuruỊgbo 111 Rivers and Bayelsa States. The 23 local government area chapters in Rivers are fully represented here. This is to inform the general public that there is no quarrel amongst us again”.
Today’s event has shown that Ndi Ịgbo does not harbour grievance much. That we have the heart of forgiveness which shows that we are wise”. Eze Festus Onukwufo exclaimed.
Also responding to Journalists, Mrs. Mbie Amaka, the General Woman Leader United Ịgbo Community Rivers and Bayelsa states attested to the fact that the congress was a huge success. She attested that the reconciliation worths the intentions it were meant for.
“Today we held our annual congress and the reunion with our Eze, Eze Innocent Maduagwu Eze ỌnụnáekwuruỊgbo 111, Rivers and Bayelsa States. I and my fellow women received today’s event with joy and happiness, because we have been waiting for this day to come. Today we are together and made peace with our Eze and peace has reigned amongst us.
For those of members who are on the side of the divide, they should return home to UIC. Where Eze Innocent Adiele Maduagwu is Eze ỌnụnáekwuruỊgbo, Comrade Evengelist Uchenna Julius Ụzọma is the President General and Lolo Amaka Mbie the general woman leader, that is where good things are happening and where good character reigns for Ndị-Igbo resident in Rivers and Bayelsa States. It’s is peace that attracts progress and prosperity”.
High Chief (Hon) Zedech Uzoma of Choba chapter. High Chief Ibe Ikechukwu Enoch of Rumumasi Chapter. Prince Alexander Nwaokebia Ejiamatu of Umuebele Chapter were presented to the congress as Eze-Ogo elect from their various chapters.
The congress witnessed solidarity messages from all the chapters of United Ịgbo Community Rivers and Bayelsa states.
The event witnessed cultural displays and dances from women’s groups, drama presentation and fun fares.
