As the date for the interment of the remains of the late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Chief Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwụ MFR, OON, Ahaejịagamba Ndigbo, draws nearer, the leadership of Ịgbo Concerned Citizens in Port Harcourt Rivers state, the brain child of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe and the leaders of United Ịgbo Elders Council Rivers State Chapter, led by His Royal Highness Eze Fynface Amaechi Okoro, have expressed their deep condolences over the death of the leader of the apex Igbo-socio-cultural body.
The groups who visited the
Enugu national secretariat to commiserate with Ohanaeze, were
received on arrival by Dr. Mrs. Celina Ugwuoke Adibua, vice President General of Ohanaeze.
While thanking the groups for sharing with Ohanaeze the pains of losing their leader, she thanked the Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodima, and other Ịgbo leaders who are working tirelessly to ensure a successful burial of the late patriarch.
She debunked the news of leadership tussle in Ohanaeze Ndigbo, saying the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Amb. Okey Emuchay has shown capacity in handling the affairs of Ohanaeze Ndị-Igbo.
Engr. Damian Okafor the National Youth Leader of Ohanaeze, also ceased the opportunity of the visit to eulogize Amb. Emuchay who, according to him, has carefully followed the footsteps of late President Generals George Obiozor and Chief Iwuanyanwu through carrying everyone along in the affairs of Ohanaeze and ensuring justice at all levels.
He recalled his experience with Senator Magnus Ngei Abe when he was a student of University of Port Harcourt and confirmed that his love for humanity has no boundaries.
Engr. Okafor thanked the groups for identifying with Ohanaeze In its moment of grief.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the United Ịgbo Elders Council, Eze Fynface expressed the deep shock the people of Rivers State incurred at the break of the news of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s demise.
He said “this is a man who has raised generation of prosperous young men and women through his Champion Newspaper, Iwuanyanwu Airline, Iwuanyanwu Nationale football club and what have you. He is a very good friend to our political leader, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe who his love for Ndị-Igbo has earned him the chieftain title Dike Di Ora Mma 1 by the United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide. We are here on his directives to commiserate with Ohanaeze Ndị-Igbo Worldwide and express our condolences and support this trying time
Eze Fynface expressed further “our appreciation goes to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator, Hope Uzodimma on his tireless and frantic efforts in ensuring that Alaigbo is safe and secured and his utmost commitment that the burial of Our late sage is memorable one. The good Lord will receive him in His bosom.
Speaking on behalf of Ịgbo Concerned Citizens Port Harcourt Rivers State the leader Chief Dr. O.Z Ubah thanked the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndị-Igbo Worldwide for the warm reception accorded them during the visit. He assured the presence of Ịgbo Concerned Citizens at all stages during funeral ceremony that is billed to take off on the 16th October to the 1st of November when the late Chief Iwuanyanwu will be buried.
