Mr Francis Nnadi, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ebonyi Command has pledged to tackle crime and criminality in the state.
The Commandant made the pledge on Monday in Abakaliki in an interview with our cirrespondent.
Nnadi who was recently redeployed to Ebonyi said that he would synergise with other sister security organisations to ensure that criminals were flushed out of the state adding that under his leadership that there would be no hiding place for criminals.
It should be recalled that Nnadi took over the command from the outgone Commandant, Dr Elijah Etim on Thursday, October 31 in a colourful handing over/taking over ceremony held at the state headquarters of the command.
The seasoned security expert who acknowledged the current dynamics in crime and criminality said that officers and men of the outfit were equipped and trained to combat crime.
He noted that the command would ensure that public utilities vandals and other dangerous criminals would not have a place to operate in Ebonyi.
He also promised to leverage on the successes and achievements recorded by his predecessor stressing that the task of moving the command forward was a critical responsibility of all.
The Civil Defence boss urged the personnel to key into his agenda in moving Ebonyi command to greater heights with particular attention to commitment to assigned responsibility; dedication to duty, disposition to training, retraining and display of discipline at all times.
“The command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the state and its inhabitants live in secure, peaceful and orderly environment especially as the Yuletide seasons approaches,” he said.
He extolled the leadership prowess of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi which he noted had led to success stories and milestone achievements of the organisation across the country.
He expressed his gratitude to Audi for finding him worthy of the appointment assuring of his determination to key into the vision of the CG in delivering on the Corps mandate.
“I am committed to ensuring the protection of lives and critical, National, State and Local Government Assets in Ebonyi.
“As a chief security expert, I’m mindful of the yearnings of the good people of Ebonyi and I’m seeking and soliciting the support and cooperation of members of the public in subduing all forms of crime and criminality in the State,” he added
Nnadi born on December 6, 1974, hails from Ndiuloukwu, Izombe in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo state holds a bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Science and Technology Owerri (FUTO).
In 2020, he obtained another bachelors degree in Philosophy and also bagged another bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Lagos, Lagos State.
Our cirrespondent reports that the new commandant of the NSCDC, Ebonyi command was drafted to corp in 2007 from a sister security agency.
He has served in NSCDC National Headquarters Abuja; Lagos State Command, NSCDC Zone A, Zonal Command Headquarters, Lagos.
He has served in Kebbi State Command, Ondo State Command and Anambra State Command before his redeployment to Ebonyi.
Our cirrespondent further reports Nnadi possesses vast experience and knowledge in Investigation, Operations and Administration and has held strategic positions across the country, including: Head of Investigation/ Intelligence Department, Zone A .
Other positions include; Zonal Command in 2008, Arms Squad Commander, Head of Investigation/Intelligence Department, Technical Department, Anti- Vandal Squad, and Disaster Management Department in Lagos State Command.
The Commandant served as Head of Counter Terrorist Unit Kebbi State Command, Head, Intelligence and Investigation Department, Anti-vandal Unit , Administration and Operations respectively at Ondo State Command.
He was the Deputy Commandant in charge of Private Guards Company Department in Anambra State before his promotion to the enviable rank of Commandant of Corps and subsequent redeployment to Ebonyi State as the State Commandant.
He attended several national and international courses, including;

He was a recipient of several honours and awards for his meritorious service in strategic operations.
