The Non-Indegenes All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State stakeholders, has expressed their disposition on the dual position one of them Mr. Lateef Elepoaran claims to hold in APC Rivers State chapter.
In a chat with Festus Obodo, the Public Relations Officer non-indigenes APC, and member of non indegenes Igbo community Rivers State, told our Correspondent that the claim by Mr. Lateef Elepoaran to be chairman of APC people leaving with disability and chairman of non indigens APC in Rivers state is not consistent with APC constitution.
“The man Mr. Lateef Elepoaran is presently the chairman of APC people leaving with disability in Rivers state. He cannot hold the position of chairman of people with disability people APC in Rivers state and at the same time holding the post of chairman of non indigens APC Rivers State, at a given period of time; this can’t stand”.
Mr. Obodo further informed the public that an Ogoni indegene Rivers state who also claimed to be the spokesman of Lateef Elepoaran of non indegenes APC Rivers State. He opined that Chief Joesph Ijede is the recognized non indigens APC chairman in Rivers state.
“And the so called spoke’s person to Lateef Elepoaran decided to be non indegene in his father’s land, whilst he is Rivers State indegenes. The authentic chairman and leader of APC non indigens in Rivers is High Chief Joseph Ijede who is tested, trusted and proven. Chief Ijede and his executive are prepared to reunite non indigens in Rivers state to make sure APC wins and carry the come 2027 election in Rivers state. Under the leadership of Joesph Ijede non indigens APC are one”.
Hon. Babalola Adamuiyiwa stakeholder non indigens Rivers State denied that there is no contention of who is the chairman of APC non indegenes in Rivers state
“There is no much problem in Rivers state non indigens APC Rivers state. Lateef Elepoaran is already appointed as chairman people with disability APC in Rivers state. Lateef Elepoaran can not come out to claim chairman of non indigens in Rivers state. Non indegenes Rivers state are not peoples with disability he is assigned to head.
Hon. Adamuiyiwa also wondered why Rivers man will claim to be non indigens in Rivers state, stressing that High Chief Joseph Ijede is the chairman of APC non indigens Rivers State.
“Again there is an Ogoni boy who is claiming he is the spoke’s person to Lateef Elepoaran, I don’t think this can work well. It has never happened in Rivers state, an Ogoni boy will come and claim to be spokesman to non indigens in Rivers state; this is totally wrong. To be frank and sincere, High Chief Joseph Ijede is the authentic chairman APC non indigens Rivers state chapter. He is our chairman. Any other person claiming otherwise is decieving himself. It can’t work”.
Addressing the Press also Hon. Offong Akpabio, former Supervisory Council for Education in Etche Local Government Area Rivers state and APC stakeholder in non indegenes said “I must say that Lateef Elepoaran must stop parading himself as non indegenes state chairman Rivers State. He should stop decieving people of our great party APC. Chief Ijede has been the chairman and he remains our chairman. Members believes in him”.
