Gov. Otti delivering his speech at Okoko Item
Abia state Governor Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has appealed to Item Traditional Rulers in Bende Local Government Area of the state, to allocate land to the Founder of Jerry Eze Foundation, Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze, to hasten the building of a tuition-free school in the community.
Gov Otti made this appeal on Thursday, when he honored Pastor Eze and his wife with his presence in a community outreach organized by the Jerry Eze Foundation at the Local Government Community Primary School, Okoko Item, Bende LGA.

He commended and thanked the Founder of the Jerry Eze Foundation, Pastor Eze and his wife for remembering his people, saying that the money they spent on the outreach could have been channeled to other personal projects like buying cars and houses abroad.
The Governor said that whatever good you do to others, in one way or the other, others will do it for you.
On behalf of the Alex Otti Foundation, Governor Otti announced a donation of N5 million in support of the Outreach.
He promised to return to the community in December 2025, to commission the tuition-free school.

Governor Otti thanked and paid special tribute to Pastor Onyekwere Ogba, former managing director of NERFUND, who he said fought with him to ensure that the scholarship he was given in 1989 after undergraduate was restored after it was withdrawn by some unpatriotic individuals.
Earlier in his speech, the Founder of the Jerry Eze Foundation, who is also the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze, thanked Governor Otti for honoring them with his presence, describing the Governor’s presence as one of his happiest moments at the event
He described Governor Otti as a Motivator who is always concerned and involved in anything that will move the State forward.
Pastor Jerry also disclosed that he has requested the Traditional Rulers of Item to give him land to build a tuition-free model school as a way of giving back to his community and supporting the indigents.
He said that his passion is to see that at least one person lives per day with joy and smiles on his face.
The outreach featured the sharing of food items and clothes, etc.

The event attracted some Government functionaries from Bende LGA such as the Chairman of Abia State Civil Service Commission, Dr. Mrs. Enor Jerry Eze (Wife of Pastor Jerry Eze), State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche, State Liaison Officer at the National, Chief Chinasa Iheanyi Frank, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor and Immediate past Mayor of Bende LGA, Barr. Chijioke Nwankwo, the Mayor of Bende LGA, Hon. Uwabukonye Bassey among others.
