The Pastor in-charge of Province 1 and the Assistant Pastor In-charge Region 5 of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Port Harcourt, Pastor Joshua Emmanuel has commended the Rivers State Football Referees’ Council for working with God.
Pastor Joshua Emmanuel was ministering during the annual thanksgiving and rededication of Rivers State Football Referees’ Council at the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Rivers Province 1 Headquarters, Open Heaven, Old GRA Port Harcourt on Sunday 19th January 2025.
The Pastor congratulated the the chairman of the council for putting God first in the affairs of the council in the year 2025. He prayed for peace, love and understanding within the council and favour to abound in all their dealings.
The Chairman of the council, Mr. Dennis Charles Dima while giving testimonies during the church service said; “it was in this alter that my journey as the council chairman election began, this is our two years in office. Last year it was in another church we did thanksgiving. This year 2025 we decided to start the year with our annual thanksgiving in my church the Redeemed Church of God, because we took a vow that thanksgiving will be an annual event of our administration.
We thank God for the journey so far, our Referees and Referees’ Assessor have been traveling across the country, we have not heard sad stories of any sort. Join us to praise God because without Him all these wouldn’t have been possible”
While addressing members at the reception after the thanksgiving service, the chairman of the council, Mr. Charles Dennis Dima admonished members to maintain good standards; that as the new year implies, old things has past away, they should be transformed in mind for the council to enjoy the blessings of thanksgiving from God.
The chairman charged members to consistently embrace peace, devoid themselves of bitterness, hatred, gossip, negative criticism, pull him down syndrome and come together to build a stronger and formidable Rivers State Football Referees’ Council. He promised keeping the council and its facilities functional including the council’s vehicle to generate revenue for the council
Charles Dennis Dima appealed to active Referees to commence their physical fitness test preparations, according to him, it is the criteria for this year’s state match appointments. He promised to introducing fresh innovations to attract recreation to the hobby.
The thanksgiving service featured get-together with refreshment session at the Railway club Port Harcourt.
