Mr. Obinna Oriaku, has shamelessly and for the first time admitted that 200 Primary Healthcare Centres are being upgraded and retrofitted in Abia State but as expected claimed that it is being funded by the World Bank.
To set the records straight, the Upgrading and Retrofitting of the selected 200 Primary Healthcare Centres are funded 100% by Abia State Government under the ‘Project Ekwueme’ with NO dime contributed by the World Bank.
In another positive development, Abia State is among the 27 States recently selected by the World Bank as beneficiary of the World Bank Impact Project for the Upgrading of 67 Primary Healthcare Centres (different from the 200 ongoing and completed PHCs) in the State funded 100% by the World Bank.
As usual, Abians should disregard the falsehood, misinformation and fake news being peddled by an audacious serial liar like Obinna Oriaku who played a central role in the looting and plundering of public resources by the immediate past administration.
I had published the list of the 200 Primary Healthcare Centres funded 100% by the State which is completely different from the 67 Primary Healthcare Centres under the World Bank Impact Project which I will publish later today. It is a reminder that the Government under which Mr. Oriaku served left the over 900 PHCs across the State in ruins and despair.
Project Ekwueme is an Abia State funded initiative and project while Impact Project is a World Bank funded initiative and project.
