The Ohafia Udumeze community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State has declared support for the re-election bid of Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu (APC-Abia North) ahead of the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was contained in a statement signed by Prof. Kalu Eni and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Wednesday.
Eni said the community remained impressed with Kalu’s performance in the Senate and his contributions to the development of Ohafia during and after his tenure as governor.
He warned against external influences seeking to cause division in the area, saying Ohafia people would not be part of any plot against the senator.
“Ohafia people are not betrayers; we won’t betray Sen. Kalu the way others did. His achievements speak for him. I am a beneficiary of his educational investments,” he said.
Eni praised the current political representation of the area, including the Deputy Governor, Mr Ikechukwu Emetu, and the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Mr Ibe Osonwa.
He aligned with other community leaders who rejected any attempt to divide Ohafia for political reasons.
“That era where we were used and divided is over. Ohafia is one and fully behind Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu,” Eni added.
