The Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) in Rivers state, will on October 17 and 18,  hold its  2025 cultural festival at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium Elikahia, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, SummitNews can now report.
The biennial cultural activity is organized by the Anambra State town unions resident in Rivers State; under the umbrella of Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) to celebrate and showcase their rich cultures, folklores and 2025 new festival ”Ịrị Jị Ọhụrụ”
The 2025 edition is expected to be in two folds; the festival of honours and the cultural festival.
In an exclusive interview with Summitnews on the expectations during the 2025 cultural festival, the President of association, Chief Kenneth Ilo said:”this year’s AASDU cultural festival will be very stupendous and eloquent. We are having two day events; 17th and 18th October”.

On the 17th of October Chief Ilo continued “the association will honour individuals who in no small measures contributed to the growth and development of our association. And there will be skills acquisition programme for women and youths. The venue is Anambra House in Rivers state, (THE LIGHT ARENA) No.19 Khana Street, D/Line Port Harcourt”.
“The following day, 18th October shall be the cultural festival day proper at the Yakubu Gowan Stadium Elikahia, Port Harcourt under the distinguished chairmanship of Nze (Amb.) Uchenna Ihenekwe, Nwachimereze N’Uga the managing director Bando Auto Company Limited. The rich culture heritage of Ndị-Anambra shall be eloquently showcased. The general public are here by invited to come and experience the rich culture Ndị-Anambra are noted for”. Chief Kenneth Ilo reiterated.
The cultural fiesta is expected to have a wider scope this time; as over eighty (80) Anambra state town union’s members of the association in Rivers will converge with their full cultural regalias; masquerade displays, cultural dances and cultural exhibition to represent their various towns at the cultural fiesta”. AASDU President posited.

Also in an exclusive chat with Summitnews, the chairman of 2025 local organizing committee of the cultural festival, Chief Ambassador Okey Nwanna said “this year’s cultural festival will be very colorful and eventful, compare to previous editions. Over eighty thousand (80,000) people are expected to grace the ceremony package with pomp and pageantry.”
Positing further, Chief Nwanna said “Prominent amongst the dignitaries to grace the two days event are His Excellency Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CON, Executive Governor of Anambra state, HRM, Igwe Sir. Beneth Emeka JP. Okebo II of Umueri Ancient kingdom, Royal Father of the Day, Chief Dr. Chinedu Madubuko, OFR, Ezeani Chinechendo N’Adaziani, Chief Samuel Iwuchukwu Akudo Nnewi, AASDU BoT Chairman, Sir. Chief Ikenna Okafor Ide Akwaeze, Chief Engr.
