THE indigenes and residents of Umuchigbo Iji Nike Autonomous Community, in Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu state, came out in their large numbers on October 20, 2025, to felicitate with the Executive Chairman of Umuchigbo Iji Nike Community, Chief Adam Joseph Ogbene, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
It was a day of dancing, eating, drinking, and praising God for sustaining the life of Chief Ekete, and by extension, members of his family.
-The trophy won by Umuchinemere Age Grade
The high-point of the event held on the grounds of Umuchigbo Civic Centre, was the final of the Age Grade Unity Cup Football Competition among the Age Grades in the community.

The match which featured Umuchinemere and Nwannedinamba Age Grades, ended 2-1 against Nwannedinamba.
Speaker after speaker, eulogized Chief Ogbene for his philanthropic disposition, as well as provision of social amenities to the people of the area.
Chief Ogbene thanked the people for their love and kindness, promising to go the extra mile to cater for their welfare and needs.
The event which lasted till late in the night, was attended by several dignitaries from within and outside the community, including High Chief  John Agbo Anike, Igwe Godwin Ugwu, and Chief Dominic Ekete.
