Abia state Government says the convoy of Governor Alex Otti(OFR), was not attacked early Tuesday morning by unidentified gunmen, rather it explained that an advance team of three members from the Office of the governor on duty to Sam Mbakwe Airport, Imo State, was attacked by gunmen.
A statement signed by Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, and made available to SummitNews states that the incident occurred between Umuowa and Ihite junction, shortly before the Sam Mbakwe Airport Junction in Imo State.
“The general public is hereby informed that the convoy of Governor Otti was not involved in this attack, and no lives were lost during the unfortunate incident,” according to the statement.
