AFRINVEST ARRIVES IN ENUGU, PROMISES TO CREATE MORE WEALTH IN SOUTH- EAST – FROM MIKE UBANI IN ENUGU

AFRINVEST, a leading financial services holding company, with focus on West Africa, and active in investment banking, securities trading, asset management, investment research, and private & corporate trust, has opened a business office in Enugu, the Enugu state capital.

Addressing journalists in Enugu on Wednesday the company, through its representatives: Eleojo Emmanuel, and Paul Onyenweihe, promised to simplify investment as well as create more wealth for the five state governments in the sub-national, corporate bodies and individuals.

According to the company, its decision to open an office in Enugu was informed by the successes the branch office in Onitsha, Anambra state, had so far recorded, as well as the development strides of the Enugu state Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in all sectors of the state’s economy.

Eleojo said the 30-year-old investment holding company, has six subsidiaries namely, Afrinvest Securities, Afrinvest Assets Management, Afrinvest Trustees, Afrinvest Capital(the company’s investment banking division), Afrinvest Consulting(which does investment research/consulting), and the Fintech business, adding that each subsidiary serve different category of customers.

He said: “If you invest with us, you can be sure you don’t wake up tomorrow and somebody tells you that you are dealing with an illegitimate company.

“We have been around for 30 years, and we have gone through the ups and low of the investment business. We understand one or two things about navigating through the complex world of investing, and we’re always happy to help customers.

“If you have five thousand Naira, you can invest with Afrinvest. If you have one hundred thousand Naira, you can invest with us, and if you have a billion Naira, you can invest with us.

“Do you have some funds or money that you need guidance on how to invest it so that it can bring more returns(money) come to us.

“Do you want to invest in stocks, and you don’t have an idea of stocks to invest in, that is where we come in to help you.

“Whatever may be your investment objective, talk to Afrinvest.”

“So, students are welcome, business people, traders, billionaires are welcome,” he announced.

Also speaking, Onyenweihe, said that in the past 30 years, Afrinvest has made the process of building wealth as simple as possible, adding that the company has grown an echo system that helps and provide opportunities for individuals, corporate bodies and governments, to make investments and reap bountifully from those investments.

“We were involved in the merger that brought about the United Bank for Africa (UBA), he revealed.

Onyenweihe who is a business development manager, further named Afrinvest’s investment offerings (products) to include Afritrack, FGN Savings Bond, Treasury Bills, Commercial Papers, and Equities Trading.

Answering question from one the journalists on what Afritrack stands for, he said the product is designed to unlock the value of outstanding and unclaimed entitlements of investments in Nigerian quoted securites(equities and bonds) on behalf of clients.

Also explaining the function of FGN Savings Bond, he explained that the Bond “is a debt security (liability) of the federal government of Nigeria, which is backed by the ‘full faith and credit’ of the federal government and no default risk, which means that it is a safe investment where interest will be paid at regular intervals, and principal repaid at maturity@“

He further explained that one can invest with a minimum subscription of N5,000, and a maximum of N50 million

According to him, while the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), regulates the banking sector, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulates the activities of investment outfits such as AFRINVEST.

The business development manager said that all the products offered by Afrinvest, are approved by the SEC, warning Nigerians to check the website of SEC before patronising products offered by any organization that comes with a promise to pay huge interest on money deposited with it.
