The Main Banquet Hall, Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt Rivers state capital, will not be forgotten in a hurry as venue of a book launch that cuts across spiritual, moral and political wellbeing of every human being, indeed, the society at large.
It was the official launch of the book “The Zacchaeus Manifesto,” written by Ken Robinson, a foremost Broadcaster, Activist turned Author.
According to the author, its an inspiring book centred on the story of the biblical Zacchaeus, the man who remains unseen, limited, or defined by public opinion. It’s a bold call for action, clarity, courage and change.
In an interview with Journalists at the sideline of the event, the Author, Ken Robinson highlighted the book and its essence. The immense desire of the book for leaders and leadership, the society and the government.
“The book is a tool for young people, a tool for leaders of our country, leaders of industry and leaders in various sectors. It is to accept the fact that to lead, we need to change our perceptions for good. If we consistently do the same thing we will have the same results. Zacchaeus changed his ways and his community changed, things began to happen. Government should change their ways. The book is about leadership, it’s about national transformation” Ken Robinson reiterated.
On the way forward The Zacchaeus Manifesto movement and the availability of the book .
“We are going to be organizing what we call book banquet. What will be served in the banquet will be the books. We are starting with the states in the South South, the ministries of education and the primary education boards.
“The e-copy of the book is in the Amazon and in our website. ww.kenrobinsonbooks.com.ng. It’s a movement we want to drive and we have called it The Zacchaeus Movement to engender positive personal pursuits. If we have positive personal pursuit we won’t have any problem in life”
“The book deploys an ancient tale to drive modern naratives. Until you decide to act, nothing will happen. And when you decide to act no matter what anybody thinks it doesn’t matter”. The Author asserted.
The Book was reviewed by Professor B. B. Fakae, former vice chancellor, Rivers State University.
There were keynote Speeches by guests of honours, special guests of honours, Royal Fathers and the Clergy, followed by the official unveiling and presentation of The Zacchaeus Manifesto and formal launch.
