NANTA Eastern Zone Gets New Officers, Sets Agenda For Regional Expansion

THE Eastern Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has elected a new set of executive officers following a keenly observed and widely anticipated electoral process.

The Eastern Zone, regarded as one of the association’s most strategic and influential blocs, covers 11 states — Rivers, Enugu, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Delta, Edo, Imo and Abia — making the leadership transition a significant development for the travel and tourism industry across the region.

Elected as Vice President is Mr Ayoola Olatunji of Bereeth Travels and Tours, Port Harcourt. Mrs Chioma Obi of Jands Travel Network, Enugu, emerged as Secretary, while Mrs Chinyere Ofoke of Gold Peggy’s Travels, Ebonyi, was elected Treasurer. Mr Emmanuel Okpako of Kikinuels Travels, Benin, will serve as Financial Secretary. Mr Ossai Emmanuel of Emios Holidays, Port Harcourt, takes up the role of Public Relations Officer, and Mr Martins Adebayo of TOC Travels, Benin, was elected Internal Auditor.

Their emergence has been met with widespread enthusiasm among members and stakeholders, who describe the team as a blend of experience, credibility and fresh energy.

Many expressed confidence that the new executives would consolidate on existing gains while introducing innovative strategies to strengthen the association’s footprint across the zone.

Industry observers note that the Eastern Zone plays a critical role in Nigeria’s travel trade, serving as a major hub for ticketing, tour operations and corporate travel services.

The new leadership is therefore expected to deepen collaboration among travel professionals, promote ethical standards, expand business opportunities and advance the collective interests of members.

The inauguration ceremony and the unveiling of the executives’ strategic agenda are expected to be announced in the coming days as stakeholders look forward to a tenure driven by inclusiveness, professionalism and sustainable growth.
