The Nigeria Democratic Congress, Abia State Chapter, held its Protem State Executive Committee meeting today, Saturday, May 3, 2026, at Umuahia South, Abia State.
The meeting was chaired by the State Protem Chairman, Chief Ako Atulomah, a former Commissioner of Abia State. Chief Atulomah commended the State Working Committee and the Protem Local Government Chapter Chairmen and Secretaries for their efforts in the party’s transition process so far.
He expressed gratitude to God for the successful Ward and Local Government Congresses held across the state. The Chairman emphasized the need for massive mobilization ahead of the *Nigeria Democratic Congress State Congress scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, May 4, 2026, in Umuahia by 1:00 p.m.
Chief Atulomah appealed to stakeholders and Local Government Chairmen to ensure robust turnout, noting that the *National Vice Chairman, South East, Chief Teddy Obey*, will be in attendance to monitor the State Congress.
He charged all candidates who emerged victorious in the recent congresses to extend a hand of fellowship to their co-aspirants. _“No man single-handedly builds a party. Teamwork remains the greatest secret to party success and growth,”_ he stated.
The Chairman further introduced the officials assigned by the National Executive to handle Congress petitions and complaints: Barr. Chukwuemeka Ogelle and Barr. Nwabuisi Paul.
In his closing remarks, he directed all Local Government Party Chairmen to contact the Party State Secretary, Hon. Ken Okere for further assistance on mobilization.
The meeting was adjourned following a motion moved and seconded by two members of the State Executive Committee.
