The Chairman of Nsukka Local Area in Enugu state Engr. Jude Asogwa, has expressed gratitude to the State Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for providing quality healthcare to communities across the state, saying that this development would improve the living standard of the citizenry.
This is just as Engr. Ugwu also thanked the state governor for transforming the education sector within a short-space-of- time, citing especially the construction of Smart Green School in each of the 260 electoral wards in the state.
The council boss made these declarations on Monday, August 17, while addressing members of the Correspondents’ Chapel. Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Enugu state Council, who were on inspection tour of projects executed by the Mbah administration in the council area since it assumed office on May 29, 2023.
At the Ihe Primary Health Centre, Engr.Asogwa, informed the visiting journalists that 20 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) had reached over 90 per cent completion level in different parts of the local government area, adding that the Ihe Primary Healthcare Centre, is now open to members of the public.

He disclosed that the contractor handling the project exceeded the number of the healthcare centres meant for Nsukka Area by one, bringing the total number of PHCs in the area to 21
Asogwa said that the Mbah administration has upgraded and revitalised the Nsukka General Hospital, installed a N1 billion oxygen plant as well as other equipment and state-of-the-art ambulance.
The chairman said that work on the 20 brand new Smart Green Schools are already in various levels of completion.
“The council is taking delivery of 86 computers for each of the 20 Smart Green Schools, television screens, laboratory equipment, free school uniforms as well as desks and chairs for our children’s experiential-tailored learning,” he said.
Asogwa said that the people of Nsukka are grateful to Gov.Mbah for the massive dualisation work on the Enugu-Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road, some completed roads and couple of roads to be flagged-off for construction and reconstruction.
“We are grateful to His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah for the massive developmental projects from health, education, roads, social interventions and a brand new teaching hospital in Nsukka axis of the state.
“We are also grateful to President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Mbah for making it possible for us to have now the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) from Nsukka extraction.
“There is serious reconstruction work ongoing at the 9th Mile-Nsukka-Obollo Afor Dual Carriageway, which cut-across Nsukka LGA by the President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.
Engr. Asogwa said residents of the council area will vote massively for both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Gov. Mbah during the upcoming general elections in appreciation of their developmental strides across the state, and their kind dispositions to Nsukka people.
