EQUITY IN GOVERNANCE: Rivers Muslims Reaffirm Support For Gov. Fubara – From Chukwudi Ejimofor/ Port-Harcourt

THE Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs, has re-affirmed the support of muslims in Rivers state for Governor Siminalayi Fubara following his return to Government House at the end of the state emergency declared in the state by President Ahmed Tinubu last March.

The State Islamic Leader and Vice President General of the Council, Alhaj (Amb) Nasir Awhelebe Uhor, in a press release he personally signed, stated that Rivers muslims support for Governor Fubara remains total and unequivocal

“As long as Governor Fubara feels comfortable with the peace agreement he reached with the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, the Council will continue to support him our reservations notwithstanding,” according to the statement obtained by SummitNews.

The statement read in bits “that the Council is delighted at the Governor’s stated commitment to ensuring the continuation and completion of all proposed and on-going people orientated policies, programmes and projects interrupted by the state of emergency rule.

“The State Islamic Leader urged Governor Fubara to make justice and equity his governance watchword not only to achieve success, but also to heal the wounds of politics of hatred, ensure unity of the people and lasting peace in the state.

Alhaj Uhor congratulated the Governor and called on all muslims to sink their differences and support the Governor’s peace efforts”.
