Gov Umaru Bago salutes former VP Osinbajo @67

NIGER State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, has eulogized the former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as he turned 67.

In a birthday message by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Bologi Ibrahim, the Gov Umaru Bago described the former Vice President as a detribalized and humble personality who believes in the corporate existence of the country.

He said Prof. Osinbajo has become a reference point of selfless service to humanity as he has been passionately deploying his intelligence for nation-building.

The governor said the hard work and resourcefulness of the Law Professor are evidenced in his international appointment as the Global Adviser to the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet to accelerate clean energy deployment in developing countries, after leaving office as the Vice President.

He prayed to God to grant more years, good health and wisdom to the celebrant for the benefit of mankind.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

In another development, Gov Umaru Bago, has described the participation of women in governance as icing on the cake.

In a statement by his CPS to celebrate the Women on their International Day, the Farmer Governor acknowledged that Women are special and resilient, with physiological as well as mental strength to handle issues.

He said the significant role of women in nation-building cannot be overemphasized pointing out that his administration is committed to giving women fair representation.

The governor stressed that women possess the pedigree and wherewithal to occupy more elective and appointed positions to ensure growth in democracy.

He said though his administration has appointed an unprecedented number of Women into various political offices, the Farmer Governor maintained that he is determined to come up with a strategy that would ensure more of them get elective positions in the State.

The Niger state chief executive also assured that his government will evolve programmes and policies that would empower and address the needs of women in the State.

While congratulating the Women world over on the occasion of their International Day, Gov Umaru Bago urged them to remain steadfast, and committed and continue to offer selfless services, individually and collectively, for the overall benefit of humanity.
