THE HOLY KA’ABA
NIGER State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago, is overwhelmed by the unprecedented presentation of a gift of key to the Ka’aba from the Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Alhaji Bologi Ibrahim, described the Key gift to the Ka’aba as a rare and once in a life time gesture that will further spur and strengthen the governor’s resolve to provide purposeful leadership and good governance to the people.
“Indeed, it is a very exclusive privilege ever granted to any Nigerian since the late renowned Islamic Scholar and leader of the Sokoto Caliphate, Usmanu Danfodio, and that is expected to serve as a tonic to even hasten the actualization of the New Niger Development Agenda.
Bologi Ibrahim believes that the great honour done to Gov Umaru Bago manifests a gesture of respect, appreciation and solidarity in recognition of his consistent efforts in fulfilling the yearnings and aspirations of his people as well as impacting on the growth and development of Islam and other milestones.
He said Governor Bago has, indeed, distinguished himself and remains a ‘colossus’ so far among his peers stressing that the recognition by the Saudi government will seamlessly herald and solidify a new, mutually beneficial relationship between Saudi Kingdom and Niger State.
“The recognition and honour done to the Governor is a milestone achievement that will, not only fast-track the actualization of the several pacts already signed for the development of the state, but will also bring in several other allies and critical partners of the Saudis for potential business collaborations in various sectors.”
According to the Chief Press Secretary, the exemplary leadership style of the governor has already endeared him to so many people, organizations and countries alike who have acknowledged his greatness through accolades and well-deserved honour.
In the Muslim world, the Ka’aba is widely believed to be the first house of worship for mankind.
It is the symbolic representation of the place of Allah’s ‘Residence’ in this world and that Muslims do not worship the Holy Ka’aba but however, it is the symbol of supremacy and Oneness of Allah which is also the first pillar of Islam and the foundation of every Muslim’s belief that there is no god but Allah.
The Holy Ka’aba holds a great significance in the hearts of Muslims around the world as they visit the Ka’aba annually to perform the pilgrimage.
Beyond the visit to the Ka’aba lies a very noble gesture of presentation of the keys to the Ka’aba, which is only being extended to notable individuals that have been found consistently worthy like Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago.
