CAKE BAKING: World Guinness Book Of Records Set To Break – From Chukwudi Ejimofor, P/H.

 

PORT HARCOURT,  the Rivers State capital will witness the first ever marathon individual baking, organized with the measuring statistics of the World Guinness Book of Records.

The theme of the event is Bake To Break. The event will feature Miss Mbonu Mary Afoma A.K.A, Mary A, from Department of Music, University of Port Harcourt.

At the pre-event media enlightenment with Journalists, the professional Baker Mary A said “Am engaging in World Guinness Book on Baking record. The theme is Bake To Break, a longest baking expedition by an individual. Am attempting to make 72 hours baking, essentially different types of cake. I will be turning on my Gas by 10.am Wednesday, 1st of May 2024 and I will turn off my Gas by 9.am Saturday 4th May 2024, when the event will close at Helina Heaven Hotel, East-West Road Choba near University of Port Harcourt”.

Mbonu Mary Afoma explained further that “from records, the last record holder of the exposition was a German with 47 hours 22 minutes. He baked for two days rested and started cooking again. He broke two records at the same time, baking and cooking. Am participating on longest baking for 72 hours. He holding 47 hours and 22 minutes, if I should excide him I have the firm of braking the record.

We are using the specific guidelines by World’s Guinness Book of Records they are call independence witnesses and everything I will be doing will be streamed online, video evidences to be sent to them, that is what they will use to understand that I meet up with the requirements needed”.

On her penchant and passionate in baking Mary A posited “I learnt baking professionally as skills on my own, and it has been sustaining my bills for my schooling and my family; baking feeds me and I help other students financially through baking. I sale cake in school everywhere even in public transport I sale cake that is why they nickname me Cake Girl”
