AS AFRIHEALTH Conference Holds In Port Harcourt, Participants Laud Essence. From Chukwudi Ejimofor, Port Harcourt.

Anmak Natural Medicine Stand At The Exhibition Section.

Former Permanent Secretary Federation Ministry of Health, Chief Linus Awute has commended the organizers of the yearly AFRIHEALTH Conference in Nigeria for their foresight in enhancing healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Chief Awute gave the commendation at the opening ceremony of 10th edition of 3-day AFRIHEALTH Conference held at Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt.

Chief Linus who was the chairman of the event attributed the poor healthcare delivery system in Nigeria to ignorance of dividends of conferences in the nature AFRIHEALTH, which he said must be corrected, stressing that AFRIHEALTH has come a long way in preserving lives.

He further pledged to use his connections with the Health Ministry to attract support for AFRIHEALTH Conferences.

Speaking to Journalists at the sideline of the conference, a Professor of Naturopathic and Holistic Medicine, Anastasia Ndidiamaka Akpebe eulogized the essence in the AFRIHEALTH Conference she said “This year makes three years Anmak Natural medicine Academy has association with AFRIHEALTH Conference. This time, fortunately am made one of the Ambassadors for AFRIHEALTH, this was born out of our contribution as a healthcare outfit and school of medicine in Rivers state and Nigeria as whole. I am a the national woman leader and welfare officer of the Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners Of Nigeria.

Professor Anastasia Ndidiamaka Akpebe who is the Chief Executive Officer, Anmak Natural medicine Academy and Anmak Health solutions Port Harcourt stated “Anmak has come a long way with AFRIHEALTH. We are impressed with the efforts and results they are achieving. AFRIHEALTH is going place and they are actually breaking barriers in that areas of healthcare provisions and practices both in Orthodox and complimentary/alternative medicine”.

The Professor of Naturopathic and Holistic Medicine in her lecture at the conference, tilted You Weed And Wast Our Medicine; said “almost all the plants and herbs you find around have medicinal property, people in natural medicine knows very well, and they’re tackling to change the face of healthcare both in treatment, in production of medicines and of course in educating people. In fact emphasis is on education, because a lot of people find these plants nuisance and you see them cutting the plants and throwing the away. But if it’s in places like India and China, do you know that this bamboo Trees are very powerful medicine, and the Chinese reveres, protects and treasures it because it contributes a lot in their healthcare system and practice”.

She elaborated further; “Our focus is we want to let people know that most of the plants around them are actually sent there by God to help them get healed and they should learn about some of them and minimize their destruction.

On the public stigma about herbal and natural medicine; Professor Akpebe posited thus; “What people don’t understand, they fear it. Some elements of ignorance is involved, that is why I said that emphasis is on awareness, education and reeducation. Because if you look at the word drug; it means dry herb, because be it general pharmaceuticals or botanical pharmaceuticals, many of them contains some elements of herbal materials”

When asked the profiles of Anmak Natural Medicine Academy. She said “Anmak Natural medicine Academy Port Harcourt came on board in 2020, all Diplomas and Degrees awarded by University of America College of Natural Health Sciences. The purpose is to help the enthusiastic and of course the people that had suffered so much in search of good healthcare and are not finding solutions to their health challenges; to use the materials that God has given to help themselves healed and also to help their families. Most of the achievement is also help to safe a lot of money, energy and time that people spend in medical tourism by traveling out to other countries to find better health”.

On the expectations of 10th edition of AFRIHEALTH Conference Professor Anastasia Ndidiamaka Akpebe contended that “At the end of this conference, we are expecting that people will know more where to go, when they have health challenges. The will have the choices or the options to continue with Allopathic medicine or ask for the opportunity to be treated with natural medicine. Apart that, the Practitioners will know where they will put their practices better in modern day usage of technology. It will also boosts the economy of the nation. Participants are in the conference to learn more and do better. Others are here to network with other professionals both in Nigeria and abroad” Professor Anastasia Ndidiamaka Akpebe concluded.

The 3-Day conference featured lectures series, symposium, medical and hospital equipment sales and exhibitions, different medical professionals interface.
