President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has extended birthday wishes and warm congratulations to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on the occasion of his birthday today, May 1, 2026, says Special Adviser to the President(Information and Strategy), Bayo Onanuga.
Mr. Onanuga in a statement obtained by SummitNews. states that “the “President joins family, friends, associates, and well-wishers in celebrating a public servant whose years in office have been defined by focus, discipline, and a clear sense of responsibility to the Nigerian people.”
According to the statement “President Tinubu acknowledges Dr Tunji-Ojo’s contributions to public service, particularly his work in advancing reforms within the Ministry of Interior.
“He observes that the Minister has approached his responsibilities with urgency and a firm commitment to improving institutional processes, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and ensuring that government services are delivered with greater efficiency and accountability.
“The President recognises the ongoing efforts under the Ministry to modernise key operations, including immigration services, correctional administration, and border management systems. He affirms that these reforms are central to the administration’s broader objective of building a secure, orderly, and well-regulated internal environment that supports national development.
“He adds that sustained reform within the Ministry is critical not only to improving service delivery but also to restoring public trust in government institutions, noting that confidence in systems is built through consistency, transparency, and results.”
The statement further states that “President Tinubu commends the Minister’s loyalty, work ethic, and alignment with the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that his contributions continue to support the administration’s drive to deliver tangible outcomes for Nigerians.
“The President prays that Almighty God will grant Dr Tunji-Ojo many more years in good health, strength, and continued service to the nation.”
