NDC ABIA STATE DISOWNS IMPOSTER CIRCULATING FAKE LGA CONGRESS LISTS

The Abia State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has alerted the public to the activities of one Okey Ezeala*, who is allegedly parading himself as the State Chairman of the NDC and circulating a purported list of Local Government Chairmen on social media.

The fake list claims to have the express approval of the party’s national leader, H.E. Sen. Seriake Dickson.

For the record, the Abia State NDC states categorically that Okey Ezeala is not a registered member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress. There is no record of his membership at the ward level, nor has he been recognized by the Ward Chairman of his stated ward.

The party clarifies that prior to the State Congress, the NWC appointed Chief Ako Atulomah as Protem State Chairman. At the NDC Abia State Congress held on May 4, 2026, in Umuahia, Chief Ako Atulomah was unanimously elected as the congress chairman.

The Abia State NDC chapter urges members of the public to disregard the said list currently in circulation, as it is unauthorized and does not emanate from the legitimate leadership of the party in the state.

The party further calls on its 17 Local Government Chairmen who emerged from the recognized Local Government Congresses to remain vigilant and report any activities by Okey Ezeala and his associates within their respective jurisdictions.

This advisory follows repeated warnings by the State Chairman, Chief Ako Atulomah, to Mr. Ezeala to cease misrepresenting himself as the NDC State Chairman and leader of the party in Abia State.

The Abia State NDC directs all members and the general public to report any suspicious activities involving Okey Ezeala* to the Office of the State Chairman using the contact number attached, to enable proper documentation and referral to relevant security agencies.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress remains committed to due process, transparency, and the rule of law in all its internal affairs.
