Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, has approved an immediate minimum wage of 80,000 Naira for workers in the state.
Governor Mbah made the announcement at the Lion Building while receiving the report from the committee tasked with reviewing the minimum wage issue.
“I am pleased to announce a new minimum wage for workers in Enugu State, reflecting our commitment to their welfare,” he stated. “We have approved 80,000 Naira as the new minimum wage, effective immediately.”
He emphasized that this decision is based on his administration’s belief that labor is a driver of wealth creation, and that properly supporting workers will foster economic growth for the state.
