Excerpts

Good evening Chief! May we know sir?

Answer:
I am chief Pat Okpala a titled person and an Nze in Achina, as an Nze, my title is Obisaambara; meaning if you have, let your relations have also financially for the conversation to balance, in other words Ụmụnna Nwezueaku!

But, recently I was bestowed with a title Egbevuruoku 1 of Achina. The name carries with a lot of responsibilities, because that is the name our dear town Achina bears (Egbeburuoku Asoghi Awhuru). Whatever Ịgwe and Igwe-In-Council saw to bestow that trust on me, I appreciate that, because it carries a lot of responsibilities, and with God I will leave up to it.

Questions.
What is the core meaning of you chieftain title and what does it connote to your person?

Answer:
Egbevuruoku Asoghi Awuru means courage and determination of a Kit to push and achieve valuable achievements. The title means they saw in me determination to accomplish things, fearlessness courage to accomplish. With that what I will do for my dear town Achina is that whatever resources we can lay hands from, whatever connection we have out there, we should be able to harness them and bring them home for the development of Achina.

Question
We understood you are not the only person conferred with chieftain title. Tell us, what is the significance and expectation?

Answer.
It’s not only myself, the seventeen people that were conferred chieftain titles came with different strengths, and that is what we have been looking for, people that have the access, the assets, the connections, the wherewithal to attract developmental projects, attract financing, attract design for a modern community, attract government infrastructure, change policies to modernized our town, all those strengths are in every persons that was conferred chieftain titles in Achina. And its so powerful that our Royal father Igwe G. N Obiora and Ndi-Igwe-Council actually looked at the strengths of all these individuals, recognized them and conferred these chieftain titles on them.

Questions.
Chief please explain further; Ịgwe G.N Obiora, from records he is 15 years on the throne as the paramount ruler of Achina, what are those visibles and significants spots you can spotlight on his reign?

Answer:
When Achina searched for a new Igwe some years ago, the process of selecting the right person was followed which produced the incumbent Igwe. Again, I looked at the constitution that produced our Igwe. It’s the constitution that under any circumstances will produce the right person. And when his Royal Highness Ezeidegwu 111 Igwe G.N Obiora was selected, I looked at his pedigree and I was convinced that he is for our community Achina.

During his reign, over fifteen years now, Achina has been peaceful, he has gathered a whole lot of human resources to play different parts; political, financial and infrastructural development.

Again over these years youths’ development in Achina has hit very high level. This has energized the youths home and in the diaspora to have high regard for Achina, that’s the reason for the high regard and respect for the celebration of his Ofala and Idegwu Day.

Under our Igwe some kilometers of road was constructed with twenty years guaranty. The healthcare facility at Amaiyi, developed by ADA/USA to a modern standard is been utilize by Achina and surrounding towns. A look around you see a whole lots of progress and development.

Ezeidwu 111 has accomplished a lot, but the remarkable and amiable is the peace in our community. This is why we have gathered around him encouraging and telling him that he is doing a lot.

Question:
Egbevuruoku, what’s your advice to well to do individuals with regard and respect to philosophy?

Answer:
People are different, and I am as well different, I have worked hard and retired. As person I can only drive in one car, sleep in one bed at a time, and enjoy three square meals and so the rest of my life. My philosophy is why accumulating, accumulating, accumulating? Why don’t you used some of the resources you have to help the neighbours, to award scholarships to students that does not have the wherewithal to go to school? Why don’t you help indigents with empowerment and loans to elevate their businesses. These, I supposed is not terribly expensive. If you invest 10% of your wealth into the community it goes a long way!

My advice is; you are a christian, think of ten percent tithing you give to church and give to the poor members of the community. If we all can invest in education, in skills acquisition. And use our reach in industries, in government to create employment for our teaming youths. If we all can take a moment and think of our neighbors, think of people in the community, it will go a long way in making our community an envious of other.

Question:
Obisambara, is there any other message you may wish to tell the public our there?

Answer:
Yes, I say thanks to our Igwe and every other persons who are contributory in making our community what its today. Again, hopefully we will leave up to the responsibilities that was bestowed on me and members of my family; I just want say thank you so much to all.

Thank you also for this interview. It was a brief one, but I feel honoured a renowned media specialist to come to my home and interview me, I say bravo!
